Just built a new rig, having this issue with my Gigabyte 7970 GHz Edition.

In my power settings I have it set to turn the monitor off after 15 minutes. The issue is that when I return to my computer, it doesn't regain the connection.
Tested with both HDMI and DVI inputs, same issue. Doesn't matter if I disconnect and reconnect the monitor, nothing. Only way to solve it is by forcing a restart.

Full system specs:

ASRock X79 Extreme6
Intel i7-3930k
Corsair Vengeance 8GB
Gigabyte 7970 GHz
Silverstone 750w PSU
Crucial M4 128GB SSD
Seagate 2TB HDD.

Try creating a new power plan - to make it easier to test, set "turn off monitor" to 2 minutes. Reboot

And what is it that I'm testing?
