Hello.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit on the HP Pavilion dv6. I have Microsoft security essentials. Recently I have been having problems with Skype and Windows Media Player, every time I open either of them they stop responding. I have uninstalled them both and reinstalled them. I need help.

This means there is possibly one or more programs that could be causing "interference" or in other words causing them to hang with the media player and skype open. You may have to try and clear the registry entries after uninstalling them by using a program like ccleaner to clean out those registry entries and then try and re install them and see what happens.
