Thanks guys for those informative posts, they were very helpful. I installed the motherboard and did a clean install of windows on the SSD. I've ran OCCT (v4.3) fine without any problems now so it seems like the motherboard issue is fixed.

Nothing installed from utilities yet and not sure I should even bother.

Personally, I wouldn't bother - unless it's something you need or want to play with.

"kdbsync.exe has stopped working" and I just close out of it.

It's do with the AMD's Video Transcoding - so it's just a software fault, nothing to get worried about. As you say it's easily fixable and is not indicative of any h/w issues.

Then I put in the HDD and moved all the user folders except Contacts from the SSD to the HDD. However, even though all the games are still on the HDD and playable, they won't show up in the start menu. So if I search for "diablo" nothing comes up. Additionally, if I go to add/remove programs from control panel, none of the games or programs on the hdd show up.

Basically, they won't show up because the new registry doesn't know they exist. So they won't be visible in a search, Menu or in add/remove programs.

Should I just reinstall all the games so they show up like they used to or is there a better way?

I have most of my games on separate drives and since I tend to format/re-install OS'es a bit so my personal workaround is to create a "Games Folder" on the desktop and copy shortcuts of the .exes and place them in the folder (I then add a custom icon so I don't have a ugly yellow folder on the desktop).

I find it easier to access all my games this way. The only time I'll re-install a game is if it doesn't work for some reason or another.

But it's entirely up to you mate whether or not you wish to re-install your games to get them show up like they used to.

If you don't want a folder on the desktop, you could always create a 'blank toolbar' on the taskbar and move the folder with shortcuts to the taskbar (like a quick launch icon). You can fiddle with the layout, but below is an example of a clean desktop.

What do you mean Gary? The fact the still work independent of the registry or the custom games folder?

Not all games 'need' to be in the registry. The same applies with certain apps. For some, all the reg enrties really are is 'hey I live here. This is where you can find me and I'll tell you where to uninstall from'. By and large, they are 'independent'.

For the games folder, you simply create a folder anywhere - I use C:\Users\Public Documents

Then you create a subfolder/s. I just call them Blank1, Blank2 etc. Within one of those Blank folders, you create another Folder ie Games, or as I do I use the alt code for invisible text. (alt+255 iirc)

Then you unlock the taskbar, r-click it> select add new toolbar and select one of the blank folders. Rearrange.

To remove the visible folder name, right click on that folder and untick "Show Title"

Relock the taskbar and viola.

Well it's unfortunate that I'm bumping this but the blue screens have returned. However, they seem to be occurring almost at random and much less frequently. I attached the file to this post.

Very annoying. Would appreciate your help again guys.

I haven't made any major changes since the last time (installed itunes and a game).
