Oblivion Crashes on my laptop!

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit, and the installation of Oblivion went perfectly smooth, but once I start the game I get to the create your character part and then it closes and says that Windows is trying to find a solution and then it says it is going to close the program then my computer freezes. And I'm just playing the original Oblivion that came in a combo pack with bioshock, which bioshock is working just fine. HELP!?!?
