I Have a Desktop HP Pavilion a6712f PC w/ a pentium Dual-Core CPU e5200 @ 2.50 GHz, 6GB RAM, Windows Graphics Media Accelerator 3100, and 500GB hard drive. (OS is W7 Ultimate x64)

i bought and installed an NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT for gaming.

The Setup was beautiful for TES: Oblivion. the graphics really brought the game to life. things were going fine for about 5 months....

One day when i loaded it, i noticed an obvious difference in graphics... since, ive never gotten it back.... ive changed all in game settings to max, in the launcher, ive set it to both HDR and Bloom 8x sample.... neither setting works... ive tried both full screen and windowed modes, neither help.

i checked my devices and showing that the Nvidia is functional still.

not really that great with computers tho...

I would love to figure out what happened.... i really hope i can resolve it cuz the current graphics that i experience in game completely destroy the enjoyment for it..... simple shadows on the face render half of it as black... cant make some things out at all. extremely pixelated and objects in the distance that move (i.e : trees in the wind) can actually pixelate out of view totally.

very frustrating lol.

Heya Jaceseeker,

Do you keep your Graphic drivers up to date? Oblivion runs fine on my GT220 (Which isn't really a gaming card but it just about works) without any of the issues you are describing. If you go to NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Automatically Detect NVIDIA Products. This will scan your current Graphics card and then tell you if there are updates. Currently I believe the NVIDIA for my card is at 280.0 something which does get updated rather alot and I suspect your card being better will also update its drivers quite a bit. Let me know if it works and if it doesn't I can have a look into it if you like.

Regards,
James

Ill have to get back to you on this. Right now I'm in a "wifi only" situation, and my netgear wifi adapter crapped out on me recently, so ill have to wait til i can get another. so my desktop is currently without internet connection.
