digging up an old thread here....

after some testing i got stable at 4.5GHz fully

in prime 95, the temps hit ~75C @ ~1.2V. while gaming i seem to hit ~65C @ 1.216V. This is with an ambient temp of ~27C. How do you think these numbers are? do you guys think its safe for 24/7/365 usage? I game for hrs on end too.

so i want to buy a new 120mm CPU Rad fan. is there any commendation on the best one out? idc for loudness. nothing couls be louder than this thing! lol

For moving air there is going to be some noise. I think the Noctua fans will do well balancing noise with a lot of CFMs. Another is the Corsair SP series and the Cougar Vortex PWM fans.

welp, after all that, i finally settled for my original 4.2GHz. i just dont like the temps im getting at 4.5 GHz.

anyway, here are my results playing BF4 on full 64 player seige of shanghi with 5 mins of playing time for each test:

Max FPS: 124
Min FPS: 54
AVG FPS: 72.857


4.5GHZ

Max Temp Prime: 76c
Max Temp BF4: 66C

AVG FPS: 76.430

so what do you guys think? stick with 4.2 and forget about it, or switch to 4.5 and forget about it?

Min FPS is only 1 FPS lower and 8 degrees cooler while gaming, I'd stick with the 4.2 GHz unless it causes a noticeable difference in gameplay.

thats what i was thinking... average is about 4 fps more... but i think that is because of the max fps being 26fps more... its 100% stable at that speed @ 1.224 playing games and 1.208 prime

I notice the load is 2 to 5 %.
What are the temps at 100 %?

In my opinion that 100% is what one should be concerned with.
If you good there your good every where.
