Hi,
I wanted to know if the SHA1 hash will be different for Windows 7 Ultimate GA(retail) and OEM. Any ideas anybody?

This is a strange question and why would you want to know the answer?

Anywho, the product key determines whether it is OEM or not. Not the media.

All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.
Removing the ei.cfg file form the ISOs and then running a hash on the files shows they match.

OEMs are cheaper, as they're intended to be sold with a complete set of PC. Other than that of a fancy box and support from MS, there aren't so many differences. The only major difference is the licensing... OEM may only be installed on one computer and it may not be installed on a different PC. If you sell that PC, the OEM version of Windows must be provided along with PC.

The user could figure this out for himself if he actually owned the media. but the fact that he is asking such a question leads me to believe he does not own legitimate copies of the media.
