Office 2010 SP2 Released - Any Issues With Updating??

Same problem with Win8

Office 2010 SP2 also fails to install on my Win8 laptop. From what I can tell the reason is the same - missing MSOCACHE folder.

Apparently SP2 is unable to handle this situation, even if you give it the original Office 2010 install CD.

So far I've not been able to find any Microsoft acknowledgement that this is a problem.

Try picking up this hot fix. Kb947821. It worked for 2 of my clients who I could not install sp2

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821

Pick the one for your system

Also do not cancel it if it seems like it is taking forever, because it does take a long time to install because it checks the whole system
Once it does finish
Try installing the service pack again

This also works if you cannot install office 2010

I just installed today's updates updates and then launched Outlook 2010 to find the two warnings did not appear!! Looks like Microsoft may have fixed it.
