Solved Office 2010 x64 v x 32 bit versions

Hi guys
I've just upgraded to the x64 Windows 7 for the first time & now having the fun (!) of figuring out what to do with some of my x32 programs specifically Office 2010.

Is there a way to enable it to see or use the various settings files from the x32 version (such as the .pst/s,srs files etc)? I find it hard to believe there wouldn't be given how most people would desire to be able to access email from the previous version.

I don't want to overwrite too many things before knowing for sure.

Not sure I follow the question, but as far as I know, Microsoft recommends the 32-bit version of Office 2010 due to greater compatibility with add-ins----regardless of whether you are using 32-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 7.

I run Office 2010 32bit on my Windows 7 64bit and Windows 8.1 64bit with no problems at all.

I know it runs ok in both versions but what I need to know is can each use the files saved by the other, as when I tried to get Outlook to open up my 32 bit main PST file it only pulled in or opened up the calendar events & not the emails oddly. Haven't ever had that happen in the 32 bit version.

UPDATE - I fiddled about with some of the other settings files I'd backed up & VOILA - finally have everything back to how it was in the x32 bit version, so very happy!! Thanks for your input tho - truly appreciated.
