hi there,

i have recently installed Office 2013 here at work, previously i had the 2010 version and it was working great.

a part from the cosmetic changes, "too white" thing, what i dont like is the fact that there's this annoying delay when you type, or scroll many excel cells, etc...

things i have done:

- disabled animations
- ticked disable acceleration (didnt seem to make ANY difference whatsoever)

I also installed the 2016 office preview by mistake, and now put the 2013 (regular version) and is exactly the same.

I had a look on a colleague's computer and on his PC no lag, we both have SSD so that's weird.

my machine is a Dell E6520 i7 8GB ram, 128GB SSD, win7 64-bit so it's FAST, everything is instant. graphic card is Nvidia NVS 4200M, driver version 348.07 (just updated)... and probably my colleague has a different one..

could it be the Intel HD3000 video drivers the problem at this point? (which i havent updated in a while)...????

also, what if i roll back to the 2010, what things am i going to miss? is the sharepoint not going to work, etc?

thanks,
Gab

thanks for sharing this - and i have to report something odd... in that post and in few other posts, they recommend disabling:

FileDownloadHandler.ashx

since i had that one already disabled, i tried to re-enable it and guess what? now excel scrolling and when you hit "enter" in Outlook are much smoother that way!

Then i also tried the hardware acceleration, if you untick "disable hardware acceleration", then outlook is back to sluggish so that one is still DISABLED (but ticked).

anyway guess i will keep it like that for now :-) there's this animation effect but is very smooth and i guess i can live with that...

thanks!
