About a week ago I got a message stating Office Starter 2010 "may be corrupted" for no apparent reason. This has happened only once before, and running the Repair tool seemed to fix it. I ran the repair tool and so far have been able to write and save documents in Word normally.

A couple of days ago I noticed that after saving and closing a Word document, both OffSpon.EXE*32 and WINWORDC.EXE*32 still appear in Task Manager. This only happens sometimes and I can't see a pattern. Occasionally if I open multiple documents, the Microsoft Word "Starting..." screen appears and hangs even after the documents have opened. Hovering the cursor over the window labels it "Windows Office Visualization Handler".

Recently this window hung at "Starting..." after all other Word documents were closed, and I couldn't open any of them while this screen was there. I eventually rebooted and so far the problem hasn't returned, but the Task Manager issue's still there. Please help.

don't worry, winwordc is just the starter version of word and offspon.exe is what displays the rotating ads in office starter, nothng to worry about.

You might also want to use the VirusTotal feature within Process Explorer instead of Task Manager when wondering about certain processes. See this thread.
