I am running WIN 7 Pro and a VMXP sp3. I have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer. Sometime ago some MS updates were downloaded and installed onto the WIN 7 Pro OS. XP no longer has updates. Since then my printer will NOT scan. On the VMPX the scan operation continues to work just fine. I also cannot screen print from IE 11 any more on the Win 7 Pro. I can screen print from IE11 on the VMXP.
I am thinking that some update caused the problem. HP wants more $ than a new printer to try to solve the problem. Maybe there is a switch in the WIN 7 Pro OS that is interfering with the scan.
Any leads would be appreciated.
