I don't know about the drivers, you would just have to try to find out, but the minimum ram that MS calls for on x32 is 1GB and on x64 2GBs. I know from experience that x32 runs VERY badly on 512MBs of ram, which is why I have ordered some new ram. It may not run as good as it should, but you might get x32 to work.

You can try it. I run it on a 1.2 ghz HP 510 test notebook with 528mb RAM. Altho it can't run Avast (lightest AV) or more than one gadget, it will do light web surfing and word processing.

If it can't work with the processor power it will refuse to install.

If you get it installed, then turn off Offline Files and Tablet PC in Services which are only expendable Auto services.

If it bogs, then you have to start taking out the Security Center. Media Center, Windows Search, Windows Defender service. But these mostly relate to RAM which you have more of than my 528, so you may not need to turn off any more than the two I did above.

Once you see if it will run then you can decide to up the RAM if you want to keep it. Try a test partition first.

Seekermeister is quite right. It should also be noted that the minimum requirements for running windows 7, don't included all the apps that you will install. So Win7 might work; but when you install office and any apps that come with your hardware (if you can find drivers for them) then you may have no system at all.

Download the upgrade advisor on the link that seekermeister sent and run it. Also look at your hardware and check the manufacturers websites to ensure that they have Win7 compatible drivers. Lastly, if you already have a copy on Win7, I recommend trying a dual boot set-up first (after backing up of course :) ).
