Online multiplayers game lagging

Hello
I am new here..
After purchasing my new laptop, the game which I used to play in my previous window xp laptop shows lagging issue.

Lagging occurs randomly for every 4sec~10sec for the duration of 1~2sec

Please help me ..

Is the game working fine without lan, if not, change the login which worked for my fifa

is it a sudden drop in fps or a sudden rise in ping? we need to know exactly what your issue is.

I am not so pro in this fps,ping stuff.
All I can explain is that in the MMORPG game (called mosiang on-line) which I play showed lagging/jerkiness for about 2secs. During which time, the graphic freezes and suddenly after that lagging clears my character already hit by the in-line characters (almost die)
And this game can only be played with internet connection.
In another laptop of mine (running with XP,intel core2duo) with the same internet connection the game do not shows any lagging issue, so internet connection form my ISP is not an issue here.
1) Is it possible RAM is not enough (should I increase to 4MB)
2) Or my window7 laptop running some program in the backgroud ?
3) Or my anti-virus (bit defender2010) running some scanning in the backgroud?
- how to check and disable it?
