Solved Open PDF file on Outlook 2010

hi guys,

i cannot open pdf attached file on my outlook 2010. i shows in preview but when double click it show error.

"In compatibility mode is set, you can not run this program.
Please turn off the Compatibility Mode and try again."

how can i turn off this compatibility mode? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the wrong program is set as default for pdf files. Adobe PDF Reader or whatever PDF reader you have should be set as the default for pdf files. If you don't have a pdf reader then that is the problem.

i have adobe reader XI and it is my default program for opening pdf files. the attached file on the outlook can save to computer and it open normally. the problem is when double click the attached file from the outlook it shows the above error.

I have Outlook 2003, so I can't help with Outlook 2010 configurations. But check all the options in Outlook for anything that possibly could be related.

Are you running Outlook 2010 in a compatibility mode, by chance?

This website tells you how to disable Compatibility Mode.

Tip 723: Don't use Compatibility Mode - Outlook Tips

To get to that, click the Start Button, select All Programs, scroll down to MS Office, Left click on it & you will see Outlook, Right click on that & select Properties, when that opens select the Compatibility tab & then follow the instructions shown in the website above.
