Hello fellow 7ians

Just wondered if there's a way to open 2 ports via UPnP (specifically 113 and 3389) on startup, as my silly router refuses to give my computer the same IP every time. Yes, I know I could set my IP as static locally, however, I move my computer to various locations to "share" things :o

Cheers

Nchy

You should be able to have your Router assign your PC a specific IP with its DHCP Reservation function. You enter that PC's NIC's MAC Address and then assign an IP address. That NIC/PC will always be given the same IP address by your router. Its all done in your router so it won't affect what you do on another network. You'll have to read though your routers manual for the correct procedure.

This silly router (Linksys AG300) "forgets" the MAC addresses of the things connected to it, so when they reconnect, even when the DHCP setting say there is such and such a time left for renewal of an IP it changes anyway.

Even when you manually set a reserved IP in the settings?
