Opening VHD files.

I recently did a System Image backup on my notebook which, at that time, had Windows 7 Home Premium OS. For long and involved reasons, with which I will not bore you, I now have Windows Home Basic OS running on the same notebook in place of Premium.

I now want to restore a few personal files from the system image backup, without doing a system restore, but do not know how to get the individual files from the VHD folders. I have tried using both the Disk Management facility and the Josef Mendev? program but all I get is "access denied". This may be because, though the notebook has not changed, the OS has.

Can anyone please tell me how I can get into the VHD folders, in this particular circumstance, so that I can select those files I wish to restore?
