Opera Mail

I have used WLM and found bits and pieces I didn't like. I switched to Thunderbird which I liked very much except that the latest versions seem to take forever to open. Lately I have been receiving email recommending I switch over to Opera Mail which I did not know about until lately. I binged and binged and always came up with pages of advertising rather than serious comparisons, so I decided to drop a note here hoping there are people who have used OM and have first-hand knowledge of its abilities and shortcomings. In other words, am I better off learning to be patient and sticking to TB?

I switched to Windows 7 from XP a few years ago. As Windows 7 did not have a built in email client and as I was already using the Opera browser I decided to give Opera email a try. It worked but I ended up tolerating it rather than liking it. The program is quite basic and the sorting facilities in particular did not meet my needs. I am currently using Thunderbird.

Ultimately you will have to make your own choice. The priorities and experiences of others will be different and may not be relevant to you.
