I have a problem in folder options
I would like to fix order of folders and subfolders in Documents library

In my Documents library, all my folders are named by alphabetical letters (a, b c d) while subfolders have name that begin with letter of folder ( expl. folder A subfolder Arim doc Arim2.doc).
Every time when I mix order due to searching documents in subfolder, order of documents is changed as well as order of subfolders and order of folders. In win XP I had possibility to fix it in folder options by clicking View in Folder options and un/checking Restore previous folder at windows logon . In win 7 it does not apply. Whatever I check or uncheck it is always restored on next use in order last used.
Is it possible to fix folder and subfolders to stay always in alphabetical order on next logon ? Thanks

If you click the empty space to the right of "Name," they'll reorder alphabetically, just as in XP. That's also true of any folders in the filing system.

Thank you very much for answer, but it still does not work. When I change order in subfolders’ documents, orders of subfolders and folders are also changed on same way

Ok. I am sending you screenshots of:

- normal order (alphabetical) both folders and docs and (1,2)

- Screenshots of the folder with changed order of docs within the folder ...this time sorted by date, as well as screenshot of the folder after I changed order of docs within the folder (order of folders is also changed on same way) ((3,4)

Thanks for your time

i do all my folders in Details view, and they're sorted just fine in one column all the time, by name, date or other factors. Docs within a given arrangement can't be moved, but there's no need to move any of them. I think having 2 columns might be screwing you up. Windows isn't always intelligent.

Is there a reason you can't arrange your docs in one column?

(MYDDoc is the equivalent of My Documents, but I keep it on the D (Data) drive.)

You seems using the tiles view of files and folders. Definitely use the details view for better sorting.

Thank you very much. It works.

Also, I changed option from „open items in same window “ to „open item in separate windows “, so each window has own rules. So far it works. I will try both way and see which way is easier for me.
Thanks once again.
