Hey Guys,

I have a very strange problem.

I'm running Win7 Ultimate on my new pc. I have a dedicated 60GB SSD for the operating system.

When i open Windows Explorer, it show that i have "11.4GB free of 55.7GB". If i right click on the drive and go to 'properties' it shows the same info..."Used Space: 44.3GB"

Now here's my problem...

I checked EVERY folder on the drive (including hidden files) but they always add up to 20.2GB...even when i'm in the root directory, I "select all" and press "alt-enter" for properties, it also adds up to 20.4GB (size on disk)!!

WHAT THA? What's going on? (see screen shots)

Thanks!

Hi,

Did you also tally up the hidden files? Some classic examples might include:

hiberfile.sys
pagefile.sys

This can be very large and easily account for a large part of the "missing" 20GB.

Regards,
Golden

Restore points as well will gobble up a fair amount of that space...
