Much exasperation here. All of a sudden last night, out of the blue, my Outlook 2010 no longer opens my email. Messages continue to arrive but every attempt to open them generates the message "Cannot Open the Item." I have no idea what is going on.
I can open these same messages in my iPhone without problem, but not in my laptop. My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. The only visual anomaly I can see is that some icon appears in the Sort By: Header Status column. I don't recognize the icon and don't recall ever seeing it before. Those messages without the icon can be opened. Those with this icon, which is every email received since last night, cannot be opened. I've attached a screenshot.
What gives?
