I have just loaded Office 2010 and configured my email account in outlook. I am now attempting to create a signature in to attach to outgoing emails, but the signature button does not respond / open when clicked.

I have tried opening from the options menu as well as from the message creation window.

I assume there are some settings preventing me from opening this function that need to be adjusted, but can not find any similar posts to help me with this.

I have tried adjusting / disabling the add-ins. This did not help.

thanks you!!

OK, thanks for your reply. However, maybe I wasn't clear in my description of the problem.

I am familiar with the process for creating a signature, and have made signatures within outlook in the past.

My issue is that the "signature" button, when pressed, should open a new window with options for creating and editing signatures. This window doesn't appear when I click on the signatures button. Nothing at all happens.

Any thoughts on why this may be happening and what I can do to fix it?

Thanks!

Thank you!!!

Irene!

Thank you soooo much.

Here are the instructions for correcting the issue for a 32 bit version of outlook:
Signature problems:
Regedit the following keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
Change both (Default) and LocalServer32 values in each to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\Outlook.exe

However, I am running 64 bit, so luckily someone else had this problem who also was running 64. The instructions just need to be changed to remove (x86) from the path, like so:

Signature problems:
Regedit the following keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\LocalServer32
Change both (Default) and LocalServer32 values in each to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\Outlook.exe

You're a life saver!
