Solved Outlook 2013 always starts minimized.

I'm not sure what setting I may have changed, don't remember changing any really.
When I click Outlook 2013 in the Start menu it starts, but not full screen like it use to. I have to click on the Outlook icon on the taskbar twice for it to show full screen.

Look at shortcut properties:

Right-click on the Outlook Shortcut the Start folder. Click on properties. Click on the Shortcut Tab. In the run box, use the drop down menu to choose Maximized. Click OK.

Or is it special as shown here?

Target is: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\OUTLOOK.EXE"

This is on my Dell laptop, not the computer in my specs.

The comments say that it worked for Office 2013 too - adjust the path.

Deleting the registry key also had no effect.

A very sensible suggestion.

To do this open Control Panel select Programs & Features, scroll down to Microsoft Office & right click on it & select Change & another small panel will open & select one of the Repair options.

Nope, same problem.

What's weird is that the icon will appear on the taskbar, it will then shift to the right then back to the left and flash once. It's almost like another program is blocking Outlook from opening full screen. The splash screen appears as normal when you first click the shortcut. Ran Malwarebytes, it found nothing.

Other than this, Outlook works fine.

What happens if you start Outlook from the Start Menu?
(Not from a "most recent list", but from within the folder for Microsoft Office.)


Maybe:
Delete Outlook's pinned shortcut on the task bar.
Remove Outlook's pinned shortcut or "most recent" from the Start Menu.
Restart the computer.
Start Outlook from the Start Menu as described above.Pin a new shortcut to the task bar.

No matter how I started it, it would open minimized.

It's fixed now. I forgot to restart the computer after deleting the registry key. Deleted the key a second time and restarting the computer fixed it.

Thank you for this thread (and forum).

Repair of Office didn't solve the problem, it just lost some of my settings (though not all).

It was the Maximize trick that worked. An earlier google research kept finding various forum entries saying the Outlook window was NOT maximized and had been dragged (NOT! More like pushed) off screen -- out of reach for dragging it back. It mentioned opening in Maximize mode but nowhere could I find how to do it... until this thread.

Solution: [Start menu, find Outlook, right-click, Properties, Run=Maximized]

Yay! Solved my problem. Even Microsoft Tech Support couldn't figure it out.
