Overclock Problem... Help!

Who built your PC?

And What Motherboard do you have? Version 1 or 2

And lastly what BIOS do you have?

I found a menu which is like this:

Save CMOS settings as...

Profile 1) : No-OC
Profile 2) : No-OC
Profile 3) : No-OC
Profile 4) : No-OC
Profile 5) : CPUK-OC
Profile 6) : CPUK-OC
Profile 7) : CPUK-OC
Profile 8) : CPUK-OC

File in HDD/FDD/USB : Press Enter

This after having cleared the CMOS. Will saving this fix the problem, or just make it worse?
Those are saved Profiles someone saved to the BIOS. They can be deleted, but I wouldn't do that just yet.

My PC was built by CyberPowerSystem.co.uk

It says Rev 2.0 on the motherboard

and the Bios is by Award Software. It says dual BIOS at start up (well it used to).

OK, first off, if the PC is faily new - recent, I'd have CyberPowerSystem.co.uk fix the machine. And evidently those saved profiles are something they saved. So, if the machine is still under warranty, have them fix it.

With that said are you familiar/comfortable with working in the BIOS?

I can't say I'm too comfortable working in the BIOS and it's still under warranty but I would really like to fix this ASAP, because I have a big deadline for university on wednesday.

Well if I were you I'd call CyberPowerSystem.co.uk. If loading optimized defaults doesn't fix your issues. You not being familiar with working in the BIOS can get very confusing.

Even though we both have Gigabyte boards doesn't mean we have the same BIOS. Example my BIOS is not the same looking BIOS before I updated it. The new BIOS from the original has added features and a different layout. It is an official BIOS.

My point - If you're not familiar/comfortable with your BIOS It'll be hard for me to walk you through it. Again, at this point all I can say is try loading Optimized default settings to get the PC working, and when you get a chance, have CyberPowerSystem.co.uk fix look into the issue.

I can try and help you through it, but the danger is that doing something wrong can make matters worse and hose your system - and may also void your warranty.

That's a responsibility you would have to take.

Sorry.

Ok, it's fixed now. Cyber Power UK tech support got back to me and told me to load one of their 'CPUK' profiles in the BIOS.

This has re-set the Over-clocking to what it was when I first bought it and everything's working as normal.

I'm so relieved!

Thanks for all you help guys!
