Overheating? Not enough power? from Overclocking

Every time I do a little overclocking on my AMD FX 8350 to 4800Mhz or any overclocking it overheats and crash. Same for my GPU it is an EVGA GTX 660 SC, when I overclock it to something extreme like this EVGA GTX 660 Superclocked Graphics CardReview | Overclockers, it works for a while when I play a game, then the screen goes black.
My CPU heatsink is a Coolermaster GeminII S524: Cooler Master: GeminII S524
My PSU is a Corsair CX 600M: CX Series
Motherboard ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0

I would suggest this thread be moved to the overclocking section, I will put in a request as you may get more help there.

Regarding the CPU I think Solar will be the man to help you on that.

Regarding the 660, I found with my old 660ti it would not overclock well at all, I could barely increase the speed at all without it becoming unstable, mainly due to the locked voltage. I don't think the 600 series was very good for overclocking unless you got a good one or flashed a custom bios onto it.

Well Paul is right Nvidia cards are not really for overclocking unless you get a tweeked bios

Your 8350 needs to be watercooled anything above 4.6 a normal heatsink or even the one you have simply won't do they recommend using water cool for extreme Oc which 4.8 is an extreme oc

the max is 61c I would say to 62c it should shut down or lock

you just need better cooling the voltage alone at the speed will make it hot and the VRM voltage regulator module will just increase the heat

Mine reaches 55c max IBT Prime and i am running water

Is anyone able to get their EVGA GTX 660 SC anywhere this high? I used the Fur Test, it didn't found any artifacts, and the highest I got over 15 min is like 70. Is that going to damage the card? Also have anyone tried what they did here:http://www.overclockers.com/evga-gtx660-superclocked-graphics-card-review did it work?

70*c is not to hot for a gpu. Running your OC to the point of crashing well certainly shorten the lifespan of the chips. Back off on the OC, the few % of improvement is not worth it. I don't "see" any difference with my 8350 at 4.5 or 4.9, I may get higher test numbers but for everyday computing there's not a noticeable difference.
