After one or two days after rebooting, I begin to get sound distortion in my music and other audio. I just noticed that my CPU was running at 100% and the distortion was horrible. I never looked at the CPU usage before and I'm thinking it may be the cause of the sound distortion. Please, I need help in tracking down what is causing the high CPU usage (I have a high powered Dell Workstation M 6800 and typical CPU usage is less than 10% no matter what I throw at it). I ran Malwarebytes and Avast and found no problems. Rebooting always stops the distortion for approximately a day or two. If you need any other information, please tell me what you need. Thank you.
