Overnight 20gb disappeared... DBL.DB???

It did this once before and I did a chkdsk and it fixed it but this time around its not working. My windows folder now sits at 50gb which is a ton for being there is very little on this pc.

There is a strange file called DBL.DB that is in my temp folder sucking up 26gb. Cant delete it, no clue what it does.

Any ideas on this one?

Try booting in Safe mode and see if you can delete it.

Do you use any of the programs listed here that might be creating this file.

Files with the DB file extension are created by: Microsoft Access; Corel Paradox; Synopsis Design Compiler Graphical; Microsoft Works; SQLite from Linux, Windows-based and OS X computers; and the H2 database engine.

I know this is an old thread and almost guaranteed to be resolved in some way, but it still shows up in searches. For future members:

Cant delete it, no clue what it does.

Why not?

That is, what happens when you try to delete it? How did you try to delete it? Is there an error message, or is the request simply ignored?

Most likely it won't delete because some process is actively using it. But because there are some other possibilities, some description of what happens is needed. It's not enough simply to say that something doesn't happen without describing the actions taken plus their physical result.

Maybe drag/drop to Recycle? Right-click, select 'Delete'? Run command-line request to delete?
