Currently I have I "mild" OC @ 3.3Ghz with my i7-860.(done with "gigabye smart 6") I'm wanting to go to around 4Ghz(which will be done through the BIOS) but before I try I'm wondering about the implications it will have on my graphics card due to the "on-die" PCIE controller. There seems to be little info around on the issue just that there could be an "issue". I guess the question is, does overclocking a P55 set up also overclock the PCIE cards, graphics and or sound card, and can that cause damage to them??
Seems to be a lot of people with stable 4Ghz overclocks with i7-860,870's, but no mention of the effect on other components.
Any input would be greatly appriciated
Cheers
