Hi.

I bought my Toshiba A665-S6070 last July. (OEM Win7 Home Premium x64). HDD crashed, so I (long story short) was able to pull an image off it and reinstalled the image onto a new HDD. Have received two BSODs about Page fault in nonpaged area.

What to do next?

Thanks.

MrDave

Caused by http.sys. Probably malware. download malwarebytes and run in safe mode.

@zigzag--thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, doing that didn't find any problems. Any other suggestions?

Have you had any new BSOD's?

You can run a system file check to verify the OS files

Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
SFC /SCANNOW

Read here for more information http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

Let us know the results from the report at the end.

You can also look in event viewer to see what is logged

There are several ways to find what the problem is. The best is to go into event viewer (type eventvwr in search). Go to the windows log>application tab.

You want to look for critical errors (they have red in the left column ).

When you find them you want to look for critical errors that say app hang, app crash, or anything that relates to the problem.

When you find them please note the event ID, and the source codes and tell us what they are.

I'd had 2 more BSODs. Ran chkdsk /f /r while I was at work today. Don't know the result (although I accidentally ran it without /f /r last night; there weren't any errors on the 1st 4 phases). Came home to another BSOD. I'd told it via an F8 start to not automatically restart so I copied down the whole message.

In the meantime, I found this KB article. I signed up for the hotfix, got it, and installed it. I'll let you know if more BSODs show up.

Thanks for the help, @zigzag. I haven't tried your most recent suggestion yet, but will if the hotfix doesn't appear to have worked.

I downloaded and unzipped the hotfix. Clicked through a couple dialog boxes. Think I installed it, but can't find a way to verify that. Still had the same BSOD a bit later. Will try the other suggestions tomorrow.

HID (Human Interface Device) can include things like fingerprint readers (on HP) and many other devices.

A repair install would fix it I think.
