Solved Pages Not Filling out my full Screen

Hey guys, sorry if this is in the incorrect area but I was unsure as to where it belonged. I just recently upgraded from windows XP and notice something quite irritating that I cannot seem to find a solution too. The content within my browser is small and it leaves large gaps on the sides of my page, for example,

I've played with my screen resolution, I've also tried holding in ctrl and using my mouse scroll to see if it was the problem but to no avail.

The line inside the red box shows what would be the ending of the page on windows xp, the page would only show up to that part of the background and all the content would be zoomed & fitted to match.

If you did an "upgrade install", you can get all kinds of strange problems. I suggest you do a "clean install" instead.

I was previously on windows xp, you can only do an upgrade install from windows vista.

Do you have a new larger monitor then you did with Windows XP?
Because what I am seeing in your screenshots is normal for a widescreen display. (1920x1080)

The below attachment is how the default theme looks for me. (1920x1200)

I suppose if having a larger monitor is bothering you, send it to me and reconnect your old monitor.

Here is Wide black SF theme, all are at the bottom of each page for us.


The web page decides how it is displayed depending on how it is coded, it's not a Win7 nor display issue. try looking at these:
Hotmail
Newegg
Google
NASCAR.com
IP Tracer
UPS
Here some are full window, some are less and some are lesser then others. some are on the left while some are centered.



Maybe OP has left the building.

Just hit Ctrl + until you're happy with the fit. What you're seeing is normal behavior.

To bring up an old topic, I'll use Runescape as an example of my screen size, normally, the screen will be filled out to this size, with the toolbar along the side filling most of the page and the runescape screen itself being a lot larger.

Hello again, since your last post was 3 weeks ago you may want to mark this thread as unsolved, top right of your poasts.

This looks like a setting within Runescape? Maybe windowed or full-screen. Is this online or from another player's server?

See how it displays when you press F11 in the game.

I wasn't really talking about the runescape screen, more of the toolbars, that is with swiftkit, a client for runescape so it's not actually on a web browser. I was talking about mainly the size of the toolbars, as you can see there is a noticeable difference between the two images, the first picture's screen fits much more closer, this is what everything used to be like with windows xp, since upgrading to 7 everything is more gapped apart and shrunken in a way. All of my programs are this way.

OK. It appears you have a custom theme installed? Some of them aren't written well and cause many problems.
Go to your graphics device support page and download the latest and correct drivers for you Win7, then...
Try uninstalling your graphics drivers and devices, reboot. Use Driver Sweeper.

Can't say I had a custom theme on, a personally edited one being I changed the colour of the task bar.
I've tried everything, I guess I am just going to have to get used to this configuration, thanks very much for the help, Brittion, and everyone else. It just looks so irregular and small, on windows xp it utilized all the screen, filling up as much space as possible, 7 just feels big with empty areas.

You're welcome.
Two more things to try.
1.See if there is an updated driver or firmware for your monitor, or uninstall it and let Windows install its generic one.

2.Go to msconfig, startup, see what is starting. Find each one in your program folder, Right click>Properties, and see if it has a Run in XXX x XXX resolution setting. If so, uncheck that or change to your monitor's native res setting.
