In the old paint versions you can go to the Image menu and change the Attributes, which allows you to adjust the picture by the pixel dimensions. Basically like cropping but you can enter in the exact dimensions of the picture in pixels that you want. Is there any way to do this with the new paint? I can't seem to find it.

TIA,
Craig

You can just grab the side of the page on one of the little tabs and change the size to whatever you want and it gives the size of your page at the bottom in the status bar.

But is there any way to do it like before with the attributes? I used to chop off borders and center the picture that way. I would do that so the main object in the picture would be bigger and take up more of the image. Doing it the way you're describing is just resizing the picture, the new paint has that feature also as resize/skew for the % increase/decrease. I want to be able to chop it to a certain # of pixels like before, flip it around and chop the other side, etc., until I get the picture exactly how I want.

If I replace the windows7 mspaint with the vista64 mspaint will everything work ok?

No it's not what I was describing, I was talking about the page size and i can see all the other options as well like resize and skew which you do by selecting the whole image or parts of it, but if you don't select anything and zoom out a little you will see tabs on the outside of the page which allow you to change the page size.

answer to you last question is no it doesn't work and if you want an alternative why not try Paint.net, it's free and it is very good.

Yea I was already using it and it seemed to work great, it's just like paint with 100x the features. Like I said it will just take some time to get used to :P

you can still do this in the new paint, it's just called Properties rather than Attributes. reach the Properties dialog from the small, shiny blue button on the far left of the ribbon.

I know this post is old but since there wasn't a real answer on how to find it I thought I should post this.

When in Paint follow these directions:

Click the Paint menu drop down arrow ---> Properties ---> Attributes is at the bottom - enter width and height and there you go.

I hope this helps :)
