You did not say what you wanted to add where. With Disk Management, you can only add the "unallocated" to E. Else it is the program mjf quoted that helps. if you give us more details of your intents, we can post further instructions.

IMPORTANT point when fiddling with Partitions with the likes of PW.

The software I linked you to is the same as the one immediately above.

It makes the job so easy you may slip backing up.
Also, PW will allow you to make the 4th partition primary if you like.

Back up your files and a Win7 backup image. Download free Partition Wizard bootable CD, left click on ISO file to burn to CD with Windows Image burner.

Boot PW CD, select 1 for screen res, rightclick E Windows Server select Resize, place the cursor in the partition and left click hold while dragging the partition to the right into the Unallocated space by 100gb, OK.

Next rightclick D, Select Resize, place the cursor in the partition and left click hold while dragging the partition to the left to take up the other 105gb of Unallocated space, OK. At this point you can also rightclick D>Modify>Convert to Primary if you want, OK.

Next rightclick F:XP, select Resize, drag left grey border all the way to the left to take up 105gb unallocated space you just placed to its left, OK. Apply all steps.

When the above steps complete correctly, rightclick Win7 partition, select Resize, drag right grey border to the right to take up the 100gb Unallocated space you placed to its right, OK. Apply All Steps.

With the Data Safe box checked, PW will not fail in resizing, however if it cannot complete the resize of Win7 after rebooting, it will start over to attempt again until you abort during intial countdown bailout.

OP,
I thought you could figure it yourself. But with multiple variations of the same theme you should be absolutely set to go.

The Unallocated partition needs to be next to the one you are expanding. You would have to move E to the right and D to the left so it would look like this:

C Unallocated E D Unallocated F

Then you can expand C to the right and F to the left.

BEST FREE Partition Manager Software for Windows supports all 32-bit & 64 bit Windows No-server OS. does a great job and also has a bootable disk to run it.

Jim :geek:

That would do it Jim, just make sure to back that data up. Your moving a lot of info around on one disk you just never know when irreversible errors may occur.

A backup partition on the same drive is only useful to a limited degree. I recommend to get a large external drive for backup. There are many good buys today on Cyber Monday. A PC without at least one external drive is only half of a PC - at least in my book.

I agree all my important stuff goes on an external usb drive and even on usb sticks for a double of very important data. I have much given up backing up data on dvd cause it become very temporary no matter how careful you are handling them they always windup with scratches or something..So please backup you data or eventually you will be cussing yourself later down the road.;)
