Partition Windows 7 hard drive and run a full image.

Seems your machine isn't picking up the usb drive as bootable.

Check the USB drive mbr and pbr are NT6 using bootice.

Well I am back home at last, hooray.
My test machine is a 32-bit running Vista and ONLY has drive C:.
I unpacked all the files using 7-Zip from the My Boot Media(32-bit) - A23x86 on a NTFS formatted USB.
I changed the BIOS settings.
I put the USB in and booted the machine.
It said checking disk cancelled and then carried on to boot into Vista as normal.
What have I done wrong please?

OK here is the state of play.

I thought I would test this out on my test machine before attempting it on my Windows 7 machine.
I clean installed my Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit and made a system image partition during the clean install.
I didn't make the system image partition big enough so I created another partition using disk management, formatted it as NTFS and used AOMEI Partition Assistant to merge the two that I had created.
AOMEI was brilliant for doing this and very easy.
I run AOMEI Backupper and created Boot Media on USB formatted as NTFS after installing AIK as I didn't have it on my ststem as was prompted to do this by AOMEI.
I then tried to boot into it and it went straight into Windows as normal.
Here is the files I have on the USB:

This is driving me nuts :banghead:.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I have got the BIOS to boot from USB.

Not to worry.

I redid the boot media USB and it worked, very strange.
I imaged the hard drive leaving the compression rate as the default set by Backupper and produced an image that was 38.50% of the original C: drive.
I also managd to get your mybootmedia to work SIW2.
It had partition manger Mini-Tool on it etc, very nice. I couldn't manage however to figure out how the internet connection worked, but I will give that a try later on today.

Thanks for everything.
