What am I doing wrong?I can't find the boxes to display the pathname for a file.as shown below.


Select the "View" tab and check one or both of these boxes: "Display the full path in the address bar" and "Display the full path in the title bar."

You need to be in Classic Theme and go to Tools then Folder Options and then click the View tab and the boxes are there. It only works in Classic Theme though!

In addition to checking both options, if you want it to work under Aero, you need to install Classic Shell. Its Explorer component can fix the bug mitchell65 pointed to, removing the limitation to "classic style only".

Thanks!! I have downloaded the Ubit classic menu but don't know how to make it work! I read elsewhere that it is an add in.

Why did you download UbitMenu instead of the recommended "Classic Shell"? I believe UBitMenu is for Office 2007, 2010 and 2013, not Windows OS.

The link for Classic Shell was in the post from Alejandro85; "you need to install Classic Shell." If you click the words Classic Shell (light blue color) you will be taken to the download site. There was no need to do a Google search.

It's not in the IE part, it's the "classic explorer settings", on install it will create shortcuts on the start menu. There tick "show all settings" in the upper part of the window, then select the "title bar" tab, from there camy my screenshot. Close and open Windows explorer for the changes to take effect.

Do I need both classic shell and classic menu?? I've checked the boxes you show and restarted but still no pathnames

Classic Shell includes BOTH!!!!!! Are you sure you've looked at the screenshots and read what we told you?

Please post a screenshot of what do you want.
