Rightclick on an empty area of the Desktop, choose Screen Resolution and select the highest (native) resolution.

Next enter Device Manager and click on Display driver, select Update driver Automatically, see if Windows Update can find a compatible driver.

That computer model has an old GPU ATI Radeon 200 with only an XP driver posted. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...&dlc=en&lc=en&os=228&product=1122478&sw_lang=

You can try installing the driver outright, then if it fails or malfunctions try installing it in XP Compatibility Mode.

Some users were able to get this driver to work in Win7: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownlo...roduct=2.7.5.3.4.3.2&lang=us&rev=10.2&ostype=

I assume you have an on-board graphic in your chipset. Is that enabled in the BIOS.

Did you try reinstalling the Video card as this can sometimes solve problems?

Enter BIOS setup and check the video settings to see if you need to change something.

Otherwise you'll need to do the work given in my earlier post to see if you can find a driver.

no you know what i might just be the pc its self today i went to pick it up from a pc repair place it took them two weeks to do a diagnostics supposedly they called me a week ago any ways they told me it was the graphics card they are full of s**t never again will i take it their again its still doing the same problems with out the graphics card it has a hard time turning on i hit the power button and the machine light goes on and the fans are on full blast i hit the main power switch in the back and try again and eventually it goes on but after a while to reboots on its own. could the problem be the mother board or the main power supply ?

Did you switch from a digital input to an analog input? Are you using the same cable? Analog can be blurrier.

Additionally, you might try running the ClearType calibration wizard. In the start menu search box, type clear and there will be something called Adjust ClearType Text.

The power switch sounds like it's going bad. You can try jumping it it to see if it starts correctly then you'll know that's what it is.

It's an old rig however I run Win7 on several 10+ year old machines, but it often takes some work to get the drivers found and installed, often in compatibility mode.

no it not the power switch just tried it. the machine turns on with the fans full blast. this issue happened when i used a compressor to blow the dust out

Could you have dislodged a wire from the mobo or elsewhere or have some other loose connection? I'd check it over carefully. Generally you don't have to worry if you don't touch any of the electronics when blowing out the dust.

i did take it apart and put it back together but nothing still the same issue i just put the graphics card back in and did my half an hour attempt to turn it on. it eventually booted up properly no blurry screen or anything. is just hard turning it on, reboots on its own, and freezes on its own when browsing the web

You reinstalled since this problem began and it continues exactly the same?
