PC lagging with Aero off, can't enable.

So, I had a problem where my PC would switch to Basic 1 minute after launching, I fixed this by uninstalling the graphics driver completely and reinstalling it, but would only work for that session then I would have to do it again, but now that fix isn't working and I can't do anything that needs a few resources.
I have used the Aero troubleshooter, and that says my GPU is incompatible, even though it used to work, So I'm stuck with no real options here.

Specs: AMD FX-6300 CPU, Nvidia GTX 970 GPU, 8GB RAM

Hello reccio mate sounds like you may have some file system problem because the troubleshooter sayig the GPU is incompatible seems very odd so run these if you haven't already

if these do not come up with anything then these might be worth a quick scan with just to eliminate any suspect stuff there.

ADW download from bleeping computer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans
(with ADW if you are running Kaspersky it will throw it up as malware just override Kaspersky by ignoring it or disabling it for the duration of the scan)
