I recently swithced from XP to Windows 7. I was using Nvidia 9600GT graphics card on XP with no problems. Somehow my graphics card got broken, i sent it back to manifacturer and got a new one. Then I installed new 9600GT on Windows 7 and now my pc resets itself on the loading screen everytime. I don't think psu is an issue because this new 9600GT has "now %40 more power efficient" written on it. What can be possibly wrong? My system details are:

Intel Dual Core E2140 @1.60
3GB DDR2 800 mhz RAM
Nvidia 9600GT
psu 200W

edit: Also when I try to boot in safe mode i get a blue screen error says "The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant." But I think its a misleading error, no way my bios is not fully ACPI compliant.

Hi mechanix

The minimum PSU requirement for the 9600GT is around 400W.
You will need to change your PSU.

Hi mechanix

Could you confirm the PSU rating and model that you have?
Are you running an OEM-build e.g. DELL, HP etc.?

Regards

also another thing i'd like to say, my previous card had an socket to plug an extra power cable, but this doesnt have it.

My pc doesnt have a brand like DELL, HP etc. I bought all parts seperately and put them together.

Hi mech :D

Power is your limitation and which I think is responsible for your current issues.
Could you confirm whether your system is an OEM-build or is it custom (self-build?

Re-read your previous post and could you confirm that there are no 6-pin power connectors for your replacement card?

Hi mech
Could you provide the make and model for your graphics card? Is the vendor ASUS or Gigabyte etc?

Hi mech

Sorry for the delayed response, my connections really slow.
For your card, [FONT=verdana, geneva]found this info in relation to power requirements:

The G94 GPU based cards can peak at 90 Watts power consumption and will therefore require a power supply with at least 400W and 26A on the entire 12V rail, it will also require a 6-pin PCI-Express connector as the card will surpass 75 Watts (PCIe slot) energy consumption.

As stated, you need a, as a minimum, a 400W power supply that includes a 6-pin PCI express connector to power the card.
Hope this helps and ensure you purchase a quality supply as that saves in the long run

regards
