Ok, so I set permissions to deny, hoping that nothing would be able to change the files inside. Unfortunately, now I can't do anything to the folder. I have tried takeown /f while running cmd in administrator. I've tried "rmdir" nothing works. pics included.
Anyone know how i can delete the file or reset the permissions?

also, in the 2nd pic, all those were set to deny.

Since you put "Full control" to DENY...on whatever account....you are foobared unless you have access to an account that is not covered under the account you altered. However...if every account was giving DENY then you are screwed, to say the least.

This is why one should not mess with permissions, especially not DENY permissions. DENY takes priority over ALLOW, even with full control DENY will overthrow it.

HI j0ckinjz,

Run the take ownership script. THen right click on the folder and select take ownership.
The other script is to remove this function.

I tested and this worked for me

Good luck

would creating a new account work?
Would depend on the entry you set the DENY permissions on. Was it CREATOR? SYSTEM? Administrators? or Users?

Thanks for the advice everyone but I think I figured out how to fix it, and it was quite simple. This is what I did:
I went to properties (of the locked folder) > Security tab > advanced > change permissions. Then in there I removed the 2 setting that listed "deny." I can now view and delete the folder.
