Hey SevenForums,

My internet at home keeps spiking at random intervals and it seems that when I use speedtest the meter would be running at full speed but then drop really slowly as if there was no "gas" being put into the meter. During these times my ping spikes to 300+ and I really can't do anything. What can I do to solve it? I've tried restarting my router multiple times but the problem keeps persisting right after it boots back up.

Thanks.

I think I my have found a solution; can someone confirm this for me?

AVG has this process running in the background called vprot and logging server. After ending both processes my ping dropped down a LOT. I'm not sure if this is a coincidence or not so I'll update my post later. If someone can confirm that AVG hogs your bandwidth, that'd be really appreciated.

Thanks.
