In Windows 7 I can pin applications to the taskbar, for this example we'll be using the Windows Explorer application. Once pinned to the taskbar, I can also drag and drop folders onto the Windows Explorer's application icon in the taskbar which will add them to the "Pinned" group when I right lick on the Windows Explorer's application icon in the taskbar. The problem is every once in a while, the "Pinned" list is getting cleared and it's annoying having to rebuild it by finding, dragging and dropping each folder onto the Windows Explorer pinned taskbar icon again one by one. I know that the taskbar pinned applications are stored at C:\Users\me\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar\. Where can I find any one taskbar pinned application's "Pinned" list?

The answer to your question...
Where can I find any one taskbar pinned application's "Pinned" list?
...is complicated.

I could be remembering it wrong, but I think that the info is stored in a combination of these folders and the registry.
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations
It is hard to get those folders to show up in Windows (file) Explorer and the files/info inside of them is not simple to use.

edit: I type too slow. Brink posted while I was looking up stuff for my post.

Thanks for the replies. I believe this registry key is the missing piece to the puzzle. I do have CCleaner, but have not run it in a long time, nor do I have the CCleaner service running so I'm not sure what's causing my "Pinned" list to get cleared. Anyway, I'll dig into these scripts you linked to and see what they're doing. Thanks again!
