Pinning Recycle Bin to Taskbar

I know about the tutorial explaining what to do using the toolbar method, but I don't like the separator between the Recycle Bin and the rest of the icons. There is another recommended method of pinning the Recycle Bin by creating a shortcut and using shell:recyclebinfolder, but this stopped working. In fact, all my folder shortcuts I created and pinned to the taskbar by using explorer.exe in the target stopped working.

Is there any other working methods out there so that I can put the Recycle Bin icon anywhere I want on the taskbar without seeing the separator?

Enable the Quick Launch toolbar, and put all of your pinned items there, instead of pinning them to the taskbar.

As opposed to the taskbar, can anything be pinned to the quick launch toolbar? For example, will I be able to pin the Recycle Bin from the desktop to the toolbar without having to do any tricks? Or, can I just move icons I already have on the taskbar onto the toolbar?

No problem with the Recycle Bin, just creat a shortcut to it and put that on the Quick Launch.

You can't simply move a pinned item to the Quick Launch, you will need to right click an empty portion of the Quick Launch and open it to it's folder, then move a shortcut to it from the Start Menu or Desktop, then unpin the item from the Taskbar.

I hadn't ever tried putting a folder in the Quick Launch before you asked, but it seemed to work when I just tried it.

EDIT: I only pin and item to the Taskbar that I don't anticpate using long term. that way things stay more compact and neat.

Let's say I want the My Documents folder to be in the quick launch; do I right click on the empty part of the quick launch, then look for the My Documents folder in Windows Explorer, then create a shortcut to My Documents, and then move that shortcut onto the quick launch? Also, if there is already a My Documents shortcut on the Desktop, can I just drag that to the quick launch?

Sorry, I am not at my Windows 7 computer now, so this is why I ask ahead of time, and I want to prevent a possible headache later.

That is the gist of it. Too bad your not at the W7 computer at the moment, so that you could just try it out. Like I said, I had never tried putting a folder on the Quick Launch until now, so I can't be certain if you might run into some kind of problem with it or not. All that I know is that I did pick a random folder and put it there, and it seemed to work. As far as dragging My Documents from the Desktop, I can't see why it shouldn't work, but there are a lot of things that I have been surprised by.

The Quick Launch toolbar allows you to pin anything to it, so this is what I was looking to do. Thanks for your help.
