Hi guys,

This is my First post in this Site... and iam new to win7 too.. so sorry if i violated any rules :)

I was using XP b4 ... my onboard audio went bad and using Sound card by name crystal soundfusion(tm) cs4280 something like that .... and it works fine with XP.

Recently i shifted my OS to win 7 64 BIT and sound is not working. multimedia audio controller in yellow mark is listed in device manager. i tried to install with xp drivers ...but it says not successfully installed..

PLLLLLLLLL HELP ME

You have to find a Win7 driver from the manufacturers website . A Vista driver may work too, but an XP driver will most likely not work. For 64bit, driver availability is always a problem. You may end up having to install a different sound card.

One thing you can try is to uninstall the current driver (in Dev. Manager > Properties) and reboot. Maybe it finds some suitable generic driver.

Tried both the methods....

1. Done... but its same ..under other devices-> multimedia audio controller in yellow mark :( ...searched in manufacturers website . it dont have for win 7 or vista .

2. System says it cannot detect any drivers when i click "multimedia audio controller->right click-> update driver software".

i have another prob too... i formatted win 7 and tried for XP again it hangs after getting in XP desktop... tried Ubuntu and it hangs there too in desktop...

Now only win 7 64bit is good ...but without sound.

best thing for you to do is open up your computer and read the model number off that audio card. Post it here and we can find you the win7 drivers (if they are made). If they don't make them you can find compatible cheap audio cards pretty easily.

about your formatting issue, if you really want to go back to win XP you may need to use a seperate tool to format your hard drive before installing XP. If you can get your hands on a liveCD of Windows PE you can open a command prompt and use disk manager to clean the drive of all partitions..etc.
