I hoping someone has some advice for me. I've tried 7057 and 7068. I have ATSC tuners that have worked in vista. when I tune to NBC or FOX, I get a prompt to update Playready. I do this and then it tells the update was successful. I then try and tune the channel after I update playready and it tells me the update was not success full. This only happens on NBC and FOX. Any ideas?

I am also having this problem... i haven't found a solution yet as i am new to this beta DRM. As far as i can tell windows thinks the channels it is blocking are subscription channels like HBO, SHOWTIME, ECT. and doesn't believe you have the rights to access them. This is puzzling because i have never heard of an offair station requireing a subscription but maybe microsoft knows something we don't? Who knows really?... I will continue researching PLAYREADY and see what i turn up.

getting around the PlayReady update

DVB-T Live TV and recording running on 7068 x64.

I bypassed the PlayReady issues by stopping the MCRS & the Media Center Scheduler Service.

After stopping them I did the PlayReady update.. WMC then advanced to an error about there being no tuners available.
I then exited WMC, restarted both services, started WMC and Live TV was up and running.

The PlayReady successfully completes, but then each time I play anything pre-recorded, the PLay Ready update comes up and, requiring MCRS to be restarting, and then needing to exit WMC, and start it back up to get TV working again.

rinse repeat..

Well, here are my odd findings. I too have see the Playready issue on a clean instal of 7068. However, it only happens on certain channels and more importantly, at certain signal strengths. I was trying to improve my QAM reception on some channels and tried a cable amp. Using Hauppauge's signal meter, I can see an improvement in the signal. However, I would suddenly get these Playready errors on random channels. If I remove the amp and thus lower the signal strength again, the channel comes back in just fine.

While this is far from a solution, perhaps it will spark some thinking in another direction as this seems to still be an ongoing issue.

Also, my programs list in Control Panel does show that I have version 1.3 of Playready installed.
