The Problem:

My computer freezes up on me and I have to force shutdown. It does this randomly, for instance: Last night I left it on because I was downloading some files, and it shut down my whole computer.. I have attached some files they may help diagnose the problems. I have tested my two sticks of RAM with Memtest, and also Small FTT tested my CPU w/ Prime 95 getting Loads @ 53's w/ 1.192 VCORE.

Please help me out, if anyone’s ran into this before, or if anyone can decipher the above event. I would REALLY appreciate it. I will be sitting here looking at the forums the whole day, minute by minute, and I can grab and do whatever somebody requests... I build computers and I play a lot of video games so I'm more advanced than the average Widows person. Please any help would be much appreciated it. :zip:

Hi pluke the 2 and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

Whenever you get problems of any sort and you are overclocking your system in any way, I would firstly reset your computer so that it is running at its normal (unclocked) settings. Try that, and see if your problem resolves itself. It could simply be that you have gone a bit too far with the overclocking.

Dwarf,

I understand your point. I kind of didn't want to mess w/ the overclocking (taking settings back to normal) because I have prime 95'd and passed. But, I will take it back to normal.

Thank you for your quick reply Sir.

Yeah, it's from the oc.

IMHO, Prime and other OC tests are worthless. I've seen them pass all day with flying colors then once a game is started, bam. BSOD big time.

You're welcome. That is one of the things about overclocking. Just because it seems to pass all the tests doesn't mean that you are going to be able to run it at the higher frequency totally devoid of problems. Sometimes, problems only rear themselves when a certain combination of events is present.
