If you intend to do some little overclocking, i'd suggest you to look for the Asus Z87-A which is not much priced than the K series. It got 8 VRM Phases and a better support for integrated Audio, could be also a better fan management from the motherboard and the bundle offer is also better.

The Sata ports are sided which is not the case of the Z87-K and could help the cables management a lot! You'll feel more confortable also at upgrading future components.

I would also get the NZXT Kraken X60 cooler over the H80 which fits like a glove in the Phantom series.

Also the Samsung 840 Pro SSD over the Kingston SSD

How much did your spec come to mate? That link takes you to a base unit. Let me know and I'll see what PC Specialist can do in terms of a comparable build price wise.

Haswell-E is slated for H2 this year but beyond that I don't know. To be honest, while I have nothing against AMD at all, for that price I'd want an Intel.

Sounds cool!: the only thing i would change here is the anti virus. But that you can pick out yourself once you get the system. (unless you are building it yourself). These days you can not do without a anti virus program for obvious reasons. Looks like a pretty sick setup. Wish I could the same processor!

Also have a pretty bad speaker setup which is a klipsch promedia 5.1 surround speaker setup with huge subwoofer and lg blu ray player/writer. Also a hp officejet pro 8600 plus wireless all in one and a logitech s7500 webcam.
I always drop the Anti Virus options from PCS as they have a free trial of Bulldog set as default. When I spec machines up for people on the PCS forums usually they have their own AV so it often gets removed, force of habit I suppose. I specced up my dream machine the other day on their configurator and it came in at only just over double what I paid for mine, I was quite gutted!

Yeah i uncheck all software options as i'd rather a 100% clean system with just the OS loaded, il install AVAST! and keep all my usual tools around:)! So AMD rig or INTEL rig based on the two specs i posted?

Nice, not too much difference in terms of price, i was however, thinking that if the next gen of intel processors aren't out by the time i go to purchase this rig, i could hold off until they are, any idea of when they are gonna be released? I'd either be looking at the i5 5670k or i7 5770k. Or who knows i could also look at an eight core AMD FX?

Devils Canyon CPU's will be released in September, it's Haswell refresh K series. The i7 is the i7 4790K and will have a base speed of 4.1GHz and turbo of 4.4GHz at stock. It will run on the Z97 motherboards.

Is this the enthusiast/Extreme i7 processors?

No, they will be released a bit before the Devils Canyon I believe. Those will be (from bottom to top) the i7 5820K and i7 5930K which will both be 6 core 12 threads and the top of the line i7 5960X which is 8 core 16 threads.

Edit: Expect to pay around £450 for the mid range one.

Aren't the 4790s already out?

Yes the 4790 is already available mate, but the unlocked K versions have been put back until September.

As I said, the refresh 4790k is due Sept but the next one on from that will be skylake which will be some time in 2015. Really not sure when though.

Edit: Actually I got mixed up, I missed out Broadwell which will be before Skylake.
