i7 4790K is not yet out to order and is the New Gen "Haswell Refresh" supposed being better with a new thermal paste under the HIS.

Is NOT the same as i7 4770K, but is coming from the same generation of Haswell Core products!

If you're looking building in September a new rig , is a common sense (Imo) to directly grab a Z97-A + i7 4790K. By the time the motherboards Z97 series will have made their proof on the market and will be surely corrected.

Yeah, well said NoN, sums it up very well mate.

Better thermal design, supposedly great for overclocking plus higher base and turbo speed and will be priced the same as the 4770K. Anyone looking to buy after Sept would be crazy not to go for it if you ask me.

I may upgrade to the 4790k at the end of the year.

The Haswell had some problems with heat variation across the cores and some were recapping them and resetting them with new thurmal compound and solving the problem.
I'm thinking that is one of the things Intel is doing with the new ones coming out.

Looks like they changed the release date for Devils Canyon again. It appears it will be out at the end of this month now.

Ooooh nice! so its been pushed forward, I've always been an AMD lad, but intel really are a sweet bunch. Will the 4790k fit into the same socket as the 4770k?

Apparently some of the Z87 boards such as the Asus Hero have just had a bios update to allow it. But there are also 100s of the new Z97 boards available already which were designed for the 4790k

That's the one thing that's putting me off upgrading to the 4790k to be honest, flashing BIOS on my Sabertooth Z87. I haven't had much luck with BIOS updates in the past!

I'd avoid the Kingston V300 SSD and instead look at Samsung EVO series or Crucial M500 or M550.

I haven't checked, but I'd at least find out who makes that Corsair RM series 750 watt PSU. There are databases that reveal that information, but I don't have a link to them at the moment.
