Amazon just listed it wrong. It's a steel chassis.
Which is no problem. It's a great case.

I have been doing some research on the X99 motherboards and it's going to be hard to pick one.
I have found some sites stating that state problems with just about every brand including Asus.
I don't really put a lot of faith in NewEggs customer reviews.

I think I'm going to just wait until more reviews are done.

I would suggest holding off on the Sound Card until you get the system put together.
Some of the top of the line motherboards just might have as good of sound as sound card.

Take a look at KLipsch-THX/ 2.1 speakers. I have two sets and they are great for the money.

With that case and proper fans you should not need hard drive coolers.
You also problably won't need a usb 3.0 usb card with todays new motherboards. You could always add it later if needed.

I would also recommend taking a look at these fans.

Noctua.at - sound-optimised premium components "Designed in Austria"!

Phanteks PH-F140SP Computer Case Radiator Fan

Any Corsair AIO water cooler I have used I had to replace the fans because of noise.I replace them with Noctua fans.

Could you tell us how much money you intend to spend?
Could you also tell us what you intend to use this computer for?

If I were building an X99 rig, I'd probably go this route.......many of the parts are the same as what you listed, with just a few different choices.

Intel Core i7 5930K

As much as I like Asus motherboards, I am really liking the EVGA Classified X99 motherboard.....feature-rich and great reviews from people who know what they are talking about.

Any 280mm All In One water cooler........NZXT, Corsair, etc

RAM is fine if you need 64GB.........if not, go with 32GB

Samsung's new 850 EVO SSD's are out now and you might as well go with that, or the 850 Pro

A Seagate or Western Digital 2TB or bigger HDD

Nvidia GTX 980(or two if needed) either EVGA or Asus brand

Either the Phanteks Luxe or Primo case.......either of them are phenomenal

Power supply is fine

As far as the DVD and BR drives..........ONLY buy them if you actually use them still. I put an optical drive in my computer when I first built it and haven't used it once since. They are quickly becoming obsolete.

Monitor's are subjective and are based on what you are going to use them for. Just an FYI, you have enough horsepower to run 2 27" 2560x1440 displays if you wanted to.

Leave the soundcard out.........most onboard audio is more than enough for everybody.

I would run an Ethernet cable to this computer if at all possible......instead of using WiFi

I will 2nd the recommendation for the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1's.....I've had a pair for over a decade and they are fantastic

The rest of the components are also just based on what you want.....I would drop the USB 3.0 expansion card because you should have enough ports without it, you don't need the hard drive cooling apparatus, and do yourself a favor and look into a mechanical keyboard. Should be a beast of a rig......if you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

I am in the process of buying the parts so no not built as of yet... but getting closer

Yes it a paste job from an excel spreadsheet and not to be confrontational but I beg to differ here is a link for the case to which I am referring Amazon.com: Phanteks Enthoo Series Primo Aluminum ATX Ultimate Full Tower Computer Case PH-ES813P_BL: Computers & Accessories

I read the reviews regarding motherboard... kind of scary... any suggestions?

Like the 980 suggestion... any brand in particular?
From your system specs it appears that you've built before so just a reminder, that there isn't a board from any manufacturer that does not get some bad reviews. Anything electronic can have some product that is finicky, especially with bleeding edge technology. I usually take the 1 Egg reviews with a grain of salt. Some of those that could not get the system to boot may have forgotten to plug in both ATX power connectors. At least one of the 5 egg reviewers admitted to that and got the 00 code indicating such. If you buy this board you'll most likely also need to update the BIOS before the first system boot so there is that to be done also.

Were I building a system right now this would be the board I'd get. With any board I always say upon first pressing the power button, "Well, here's goes nothing." And sometimes I'm right only because I've had one of those duh! I forgot this or that, smack the forehead moments. For example, I've forgotten to flip the switch on the back of the power supply to the ON position. :)

I only read several of the 5 egg reviews and all of the 1 and 2 egg reviews but didn't see a review speaking to bent RAM posts amongst those. While that could have happened at the factory, I did see one review by a Michael that said the mobo he received was damaged (didn't say in what way), and upon receiving another it was the same he had returned; that would be the fault of the ship\receive dept. at newegg sending RMA'd boards out as new. No one could blame someone for being angry that had RMA'd a board and got the same returned to them.

Some of the reviews speak of the RAM not being recognized and perhaps those slots are dead, or it could be something that could be resolved. The P6T board in my system now had many poor reviews and people RMA'd boards related to memory not being recognized. I helped some resolve it as the problem there was not getting the CPU installed properly with even down pressure when installing the heatsink/cooler. It's impossible to know the technical experience level of those writing these reviews.

Yea, that's the problem with these reviews you just cannot tell if this board has real problems Asus knows about, or if the reviewers have missed something in building the system. It may well be that if I bought one I'd have similar problems.

In the end we all go by our own experience and mine has been good with Asus boards, while other folks may have had a different experience and have sworn off ever buying an Asus board again, or at least for many years. I could do the same I suppose should a bad enough experience ever happen.

Bent pins sometimes make it through to the consumer.......it happens with every motherboard manufacturer. Asus probably outsells MSI and Gigabyte 4:1 so yeah, there are gonna be some bad reviews from time to time.

Also, someone with a complaint will write a bad review much faster than someone who is happy with the product.
