"Power on hours" not being counted on my SSD..?!

Hello, i grabbed some crucial msata ssd and cloned my windows from the hdd to it. works fine however the "power on hours" count won't update in windows..!

I was told to do garbage collection so i went in the bios and let the unit idle there for 8h. when i did reboot, i saw the counter increased from 8h.

I let windows run for +2 hours but counter did not update.. What i did after migration : disabling prefetch, superfetch & cache. Any ideas?

It does seem that this might be a problem with some Crucial SSDs. This website shows a few others have the same problem.

Have you tried contacting Support at Crucial for a solution.

Yes, I tried what they said but no changes.

OK, sorry I thought you had only read the items on the the website I had posted.

If Crucial Support are saying there is no solution as this stage it looks like you will have to live with it. While it may not provide information on the "power on hours", it probably wont cause any problems in the normal operation of the SSD.

They do not search much i guess.. Otherwise they'd have fixed it in firmware.. Since it's an issue quite a fee encountered. I wish I could try the ssd on another system..

I can't see how trying it on another system would change things. The firmware that supplies details of the SSD is tied to the SSD & not the operating system.

That would show If it's an haswell compatibility issue. Not all these ssd have this issue, so either it's defective, either incompatible.

Sorry it's a old pic. you have nothing shown on the side where it has hours? You could try function/workaround/firmware bug in the menus.

I will look for it. The hours counter is working but not counting normally.

Did you look there? Cause they're just two entry, one foy some Samsung drive, one for "IE8 mode", no clue what it is.
