Powerline adapter

Hi! So, i was wondering with these powerline adapters, do you NEED a router or can you just plug it in to the wall and put a ethernet cable straight to your PC?:sarc:

Hi mackan21,

My understanding of them is, you plug one adapter in near your router and connect it to it and then the other adapter in the room where your PC is and you connect your PC straight to the adapter in that room.
