Hi,

I have an epson ticketprinter on COM1 on a Win 7 PC.
The printer is printing through the driver and extremely slow.

The java-software can direct the printout data directly
therefore the following should work.
echo "some text to test" > //192.168.1.123/PRINTERNAME

When I do so I get "Zugriff verweigert" which is german for "access denied".
The owner of the printer is "SYSTEM" I have given rights to use and manage the printer to a lot of user but still no effekt, removed a grouppolicy. The printer has been made available for the network.

Anyone an idea where to look or how I change the owner?

Regards,
Jan

Is the printer connected to serial port Com1 or to Ethernet (LAN) port?

Ok the printer is a local printer connected to com1.
I have it in a printershare for the local network the share named "EPSON".
This is done in the printerproperties.

//192.168.1.123/EPSON

is perfectly OK in Windows 8, Windows accepts forwardslashes in network-addresses.

This is working in other Win7 - Win 8 - Win 10 installations, only on this specific machine the access is denied.

Regards,
Jan
